This is the first fuelling step for the 2023-2024 Ford Ranger Raptor and its 3.0 V6 EcoBoost R Code engine: Nostrum's Big Bore high pressure fuel pump kit flowing 47% more than standard, with six flow-matched Stage 1 direct injectors adding 11% over stock. On a UK Raptor the reason to fit it is plain — the standard HPFP is the first thing to run short once a tuner asks for boost earlier in the rev range, and it is the hard limit on running ethanol. With this package the truck can take full pump E85 with no blending, and the calibrator has a fuel system that will hold rail pressure.
Ethanol raises effective octane and makes a turbocharged engine far less prone to knock, which suits the twin-turbo V6 well. It also demands considerably more fuel volume than 99 octane, and that lands on the high-pressure pump first. The Big Bore kit is 47% up on standard and 20% larger than the XDI evo HPFP, which is what makes full pump E85 realistic here.
Stage 1 is the smallest injector move in the range, and on a truck that tows, commutes and goes green-laning that is a feature. An 11% step keeps idle and part-throttle behaviour close to factory, so the calibration is not working around a huge injector to make the Raptor drive normally at 30 mph. The Stage 2 bundle keeps this pump and steps the injectors to 24%, and the parts are sold alone as the Ranger Raptor HPFP kit and the Stage 1 injector set.
