Summary

The Stanadyne 1150-250 is the larger of Nostrum's two 250 bar bare pump cores: an 11.49 mm piston displacing 1865.44 mm³ per cam revolution, rated to 250 bar (25 MPa, 3636 psi) - a much higher pressure rating than the production GM LT4 pump it shares its overall dimensions with. What sets it apart in practice is the low pressure inlet, an AN06 male thread instead of the LT4's 3/8 inch SAE quick connect, so the feed side is plumbed with industry-standard AN hardware. It arrives as a bare core with none of the hardware associated with engine installation, in minimum quantities of six for shop and installer use.

Best For

  • Gen 5 LT builds already plumbed in AN hardware, where a quick connect inlet would be the odd fitting out
  • Engine builders specifying the largest 250 bar core in the range for a high demand setup
  • Swaps and one-off installs where the fuel feed is being fabricated rather than reused

The AN06 Inlet Changes Your Plumbing

On a standard LT4 pump the low pressure feed arrives on a 3/8 inch SAE quick connect. This core replaces that with an AN06 male thread, and that is the single most important thing to notice before ordering. If your feed line is already AN, the pump drops into the plumbing you have. If it is a factory quick connect line, you need an adapter or a new line made up - a fabrication job to plan rather than discover on the bench.

Where The Extra Piston Diameter Goes

Going from 10.5 mm to 11.49 mm of piston takes displaced flow per cam revolution from 1558.6 mm³ to 1865.44 mm³ at the same 6 mm stroke, so the pump moves more fuel per turn. That is what holds pressure steady at high injector demand instead of letting it fall away at the top end. Feed-side ripple is worth managing too, which is where the AN06 pulsation damper earns its place on an AN-plumbed system.

Fitment And Setup Checks

  • Plan the AN06 feed line, adapters and seals before ordering; adapting from a quick connect line means industry-standard AN hardware.
  • Dimensions are similar to the stock GM LT4 pump, which Nostrum identifies as 12711668 and 12694529 - check your mounting and drive arrangement against it.
  • Confirm cam stroke and lobe count against the displacement figure. Nostrum quotes it at 6 mm stroke and our own catalogue record carries a differing stroke note, so ask Hoonies first.
  • A pump holding this pressure needs a calibration written around it and a low pressure supply that keeps the inlet fed.
  • Minimum order quantity is six, so this suits trade and build orders.

Questions before you order

Frequently asked questions

Will it go straight onto an LT4 in place of the standard pump?

Dimensions are similar to the stock LT4 unit, but the inlet is AN06 rather than a quick connect and no installation hardware is supplied. Expect to make up the feed side yourself.

Why choose this over the 1050-250?

More displaced flow per cam revolution at the same 250 bar rating, and an AN feed instead of a quick connect. The 1050-250 core is the choice if your plumbing is already SAE quick connect and demand is lower.
