The Nostrum Standard Bore Plus kit replaces the camshaft-driven high pressure fuel pump on the 2015-2023 Ford Mustang 2.3 EcoBoost, and on a modified car that pump is usually what decides where the tune has to stop. More boost, a sharper calibration or a move to ethanol all ask for fuel the factory unit cannot deliver, so the tuner backs off to stay safe. This laser-welded stainless pump flows 37% more fuel than the factory pump and works to 240 bar, and it comes with the application-specific high pressure tube, low pressure line, mounting flange and installation tool. It is the middle pump in Nostrum's Mustang range: more flow and rail pressure than the plain standard bore pump, less outlay than Big Bore, and enough for pump E85 on a stock-turbo car.
A direct injection fuel system runs out in two places. The pump caps the mid-range where peak torque lives; the injectors cap the top end, where there is less crank angle available to inject. The HPFP is driven off the camshaft at half crank speed, so extra displacement pays off lowest down, exactly where a tuner wants boost in earlier. The 240 bar ceiling helps too: the same injector moves more fuel at the same pulse width.
Both Mustang pumps run to 240 bar, so the question is how much capacity the build will ask for. Standard Bore Plus adds 37% flow and suits a stock or lightly modified turbo on petrol or pump E85. The Big Bore kit goes to 63% and 1.825 cc/rev, which is the one to pick if a larger turbo is already planned. Outgrowing the smaller pump in a season costs more than starting a rung higher.

Yes, and Nostrum recommends straight pump E85 over mixing your own blend. If you do run blends, put a tank of high octane petrol through now and then.
