Big Bore is the largest high pressure fuel pump Nostrum builds for the 2.3 EcoBoost Mustang, and it is the pump you fit when the fuel system has to keep up with a bigger turbo, a built engine or a serious ethanol tune. It flows 63% more fuel than the factory pump from 1.825 cc/rev of displacement, holds 240 bar of rail pressure, and comes as a fully laser-welded stainless assembly with its own custom high pressure fuel line, mounting flange and installation guide. The factory low-pressure feed line stays in place, so the install is contained to the pump end of the system. For a 2015-2023 EcoBoost Mustang that has already outgrown the stock turbo, this is the version that stops fuel being the thing holding the calibration back.
The honest answer depends on the turbo. A stock-turbo car chasing pump E85 is well served by the Standard Bore Plus kit at 37% extra flow and the same 240 bar ceiling. Once a larger compressor is bolted on, mid-range fuel demand climbs faster than the smaller pump can follow, and Big Bore's extra displacement is what lets a tuner bring boost in early and keep the rail pressure target where they want it. The parts are not interchangeable in the box either: Big Bore ships with its own high pressure line, so plan the choice once.

It is more pump than a stock-turbo car will use, and there is nothing harmful about that, but the smaller kit costs less and still covers pump E85 on the factory compressor. Choose Big Bore when the turbo change is already planned.
The pump is still controlled by the ECU through the factory strategy; it simply has more displacement per revolution to work with. That is why the calibration has to be updated rather than left as it is.
Often yes. The Stage 2 bundle pairs this Big Bore pump with four matched high flow direct injectors and the custom fuel line, which is the same hardware you would end up buying separately.
