Pull out the hose, sort your tyre pressures and wind it neatly away. The APEX Compact Reel System gives your on-board air installation a permanent home for its hose, so you're not untangling a loose coil at every stop. Choose the shorter reel for a compact installation or the longer version when you need more reach around your vehicle.

Made to live in your vehicle
The hard-anodised 6061-T6 aluminium construction and glass-filled DuPont nylon 66 guide give the CRS a durable, compact feel. Viton seals resist chemicals and heat, while the nitrile hose's nylon braid helps resist abrasion. These are useful details on equipment that gets handled with dusty gloves and packed away after a day off road.
The greased, sealed aluminium knob releases the reel for use, then locks it for travel. Guide the hose evenly as you wind it in and hold tension while locking the knob to keep it from rattling on the drive.
Choose the reach you need
Choose 6m (nominal 20 ft) for the smaller reel or 10.6m (nominal 35 ft) when you need more reach. The longer hose needs a deeper reel body: dimension X in the drawing increases from 2.900 in to 4.400 in. Allow extra space for the knob, fittings and hose movement when choosing your mounting position.
Choose your chuck and mounting position
Add the CRS universal mounting bracket when you want a separate bracket, and finish the hose with the APEX dual-flow push-on chuck. The reel and these accessories are separate purchases. For an inflator and pressure gauge at the hose end, the Precision Tyre Inflator offers a slide control and a choice of 40 or 90 psi gauges.
The CRS banjo fitting is another useful option for routing an APEX braided feed hose close to the reel. Its O-ring needs a flat sealing face; it is not a conventional thread-sealing NPT adapter.
Pair it with an ARB on-board compressor
An ARB CKMTA12 twin compressor is a useful air source for a permanent tyre-inflation installation. If you want the higher-output brushless option, see the ARB CKBLTA12. The compressor, feed hose, connection fittings and tyre chuck are separate from this reel.
Keep the feed line within the reel's 150 psi working limit and use connections rated for the compressor's heat. In particular, connections directly at the CKBLTA12 compressor must withstand 150 degrees C / 300 degrees F and locates valves or couplings downstream of more than 1.2m of suitable high-temperature hose, or at an appropriate external tank or manifold. Our reinforced JIC-4 hoses include 1.5m, 2m and 3m options for planning that route; the reel-end fittings still need to match your installation.
Keep it working for future trips
The hose-end fitting can be removed so a damaged end can be trimmed and refitted following the guide. Use the matching APEX braided air line and hose fittings when replacing or extending a feed. Leave the reel assembly intact: dismantling it can damage it and invalidate the warranty.
For an exposed mounting position, protect the reel from ice and snow that could interfere with winding, and keep dirt and water out of the chuck. Avoid strong acid cleaners. UV-resistant components make normal sunlight exposure suitable.

No. Choose your compressor, feed connections, mounting arrangement and chuck separately. This lets you fit the reel where it is most convenient in your vehicle.
Which length should I choose?
Measure from your proposed mounting position to the furthest tyre or use point, allowing room to handle the hose. Choose 6m for the smaller reel or 10.6m for extra reach and allow for the deeper reel body.
Can I use it with an ARB twin compressor?
Yes, as part of a correctly connected air installation, within the CRS's 150 psi working limit. Match the feed fittings and temperature rating to the compressor. The brushless twin's hot-side installation requirements still apply.
Is it a spring-retracting reel?
It is manually wound. Release the locking knob, pull out the hose, then guide it evenly back onto the reel and lock the knob for travel.
Can I repair a damaged hose end?
The guide shows how to remove the hose-end fitting, trim the damaged section and refit it. Do not take the reel assembly apart.
