Subaru's FA24 responds well to basic bolt-ons, then the factory fuel system holds it back. This Nostrum pump fixes the delivery side: 37% more displacement than standard, rated to 200 bar, fully assembled and flow tested before sale. More volume in the mid range means the tune can bring boost in earlier and hold it, felt as low-end torque rather than a single number at the top. It is ethanol compatible, so a 2022-on WRX, Ascent or Legacy can run pump E85 with the high pressure side keeping up.
This pump is driven off the camshaft at half crank speed, so what it delivers is tied to engine speed. In the mid range there is plenty of crank angle per injection event but not enough volume behind it, and that is where the standard FA24 pump gives up once boost climbs. Adding 37% displacement lets the calibrator ask for boost sooner and keep the fuel target. That changes the shape of the torque curve, not just its ceiling.
Pump and injectors solve different halves of the same problem: pump limits show in the mid range, injector limits at high rpm as time per injection event runs short. Nostrum recommends pairing this pump with the FA24 upgraded direct injectors to finish the job, and the FA24 bundle supplies both together. Because the pump can be driven on without a tune, it is a reasonable place to start if you are spreading the spend.
Nostrum covers the 2022-on WRX, 2019-on Ascent and 2020-2024 Legacy - turbocharged FA24 only. The pump can be installed and driven on without a tune, but Nostrum recommends calibrating to use its full capacity, so treat the tuning as part of the plan. The 725 whp gasoline and 585 whp E85 figures are the fuel system's supported potential on a build with matching air handling, mechanical strength and calibration. On ethanol, full pump E85 is preferred to intermediate blends, which can leave residue in any fuel system.

Not usually. The pump lifts the mid range where volume is short; peak power is normally injector limited. Your tuner's logs will show which limit you meet first.
No. This pump is for the turbocharged FA24 in the WRX, Ascent and Legacy. The BRZ and GT86 use a different fuel system entirely.
Nostrum lists no tune requirement for the pump and says it can be driven on, but recommends a calibration to use its full capacity. Book the tune sooner rather than later.
