The 2.0 EcoBoost in the Maverick responds well to tuning right up to the point where the factory high pressure fuel pump stops keeping up, and then everything else stalls with it. This Nostrum kit fits the 1050-250 pump in its place: a fully laser-welded stainless assembly flowing 36% more fuel than the factory pump, rated to 250 bar and dynamically tested before it ships. Because it retains the standard low-pressure feed line and mounts with the supplied flange, hardware and alignment tool, the job stays at the pump end of the fuel system. The result is a truck whose calibration can bring boost in earlier through the mid-range, and one that can run E85 or an ethanol blend rather than being tied to petrol.
Fuel and boost are linked: a tuner can only ask for the boost the fuel system can support. On the standard pump the safe answer arrives early, which is why a well-tuned stock Maverick plateaus. Adding pump displacement lifts the fuel available exactly where the engine makes its torque, so the calibration can bring boost in sooner and hold it rather than backing off to protect the mixture. That is a drivability change as much as a peak figure, felt as a truck that pulls harder from lower down once it has been recalibrated.
