Tuning a 2.3 EcoBoost Ranger gets interesting quickly, and then the factory high pressure fuel pump gets in the way. This Nostrum kit replaces it with a fully laser-welded stainless pump that flows 36% more fuel than the standard unit and runs to 250 bar (25 MPa / 3626 psi), with an application-specific high pressure fuel line and everything needed to fit it. For a truck that tows, works and gets driven every day, the useful part is not a headline number but where the extra fuel lands: more pump capacity low and mid-range is what lets a tuner bring boost in earlier and hold a sensible fuel target instead of pulling the map back. It also opens the door to pump E85 if that is the direction you want to take the Ranger.
The HPFP on a direct injection engine is driven off the camshaft, so its output is tied to engine speed rather than fuel demand. On a stock Ranger the pump caps things through the mid-range where the engine is doing most of its towing and pulling work. Adding displacement to the pump raises the fuel available exactly there, and the higher 250 bar ceiling lets the injectors deliver more mass in the same window with better spray quality. That is why a pump upgrade tends to show up as a calibration that no longer has to compromise, rather than a change you feel from the part alone.

The gain is in fuel capacity, not in the tow rating. With the calibration updated, a tuner has more fuel available in the mid-range the truck uses when pulling, instead of having to lean on a conservative target.
If the plan is E85 or a higher power target, yes. The Ranger 2.3 high flow injectors handle the top-end limit that the pump does not.
