Summary
The Mk3 Focus ST has plenty left in the 2.0 EcoBoost, but the factory fuel system is what stops an owner getting at it, and no amount of boost or intercooling changes that. This is Nostrum's 1050-250 pump kit for the Focus ST: a fully welded stainless assembly with 1.22 cc/rev of geometric displacement, 36 percent more than standard. More supply at the rail lets a tuner bring boost in earlier and hold it, which shows up as a stronger midrange rather than a peak number, and it opens the door to E85 or a blend on a car that previously had to stay on 98.
Best For
Mk3 Focus STs out of headroom on a stage-two style map.
Cars moving onto ethanol where the standard pump cannot keep the rail fed.
Daily-driven STs chasing torque low down rather than a dyno headline.
Builds with a bigger turbo planned and the fuel side to sort first.
What Holds A Mk3 Focus ST Back
Direct injection pumps run off a camshaft lobe at half crank speed, so output is a function of size. The standard 2.0 EcoBoost unit is sized for a standard car; ask for more fuel mass per cycle and rail pressure falls, so the calibration has to pull timing or boost to stay safe. A larger pump matters most low and mid-range, where the injector has crank angle to spare and it is supply, not delivery, that is short.
Planning The Rail Pressure Sensor
On the standard rail sensor this pump is held to 190 bar. Nostrum's optional E460-1579 upgrade takes it to 250, and that is worth having because the same injector flows more fuel and sprays it better at higher pressure. Decide before the car goes in, because it changes what the tuner can command. If injectors are also on the list, the matched Focus ST 2.0 fuel bundle pairs this pump with the high flow set.

Fitment And Setup Checks
Nostrum covers the 2015-2018 Ford Focus ST here. On 2013 and 2014 cars the calibration is still being validated, because current tuning tools cannot drive the pump solenoid on that ECU, so talk to us first. A tune is required, with COBB, HP Tuners and SCT supported and EMS, Dizzy Tuning, Stratified, Panda Motorworks and Tunewerks among Nostrum's tuners. The kit reuses the standard low-pressure feed line and is a direct bolt-on. If you are unsure, use a professional fitter.

Questions before you order
Frequently asked questions
Does this fit a Maverick, Escape or Kuga?
Not per Nostrum. The application here is the Focus ST, and Nostrum builds a separate 2.0 EcoBoost pump kit for the Maverick. Ask us first for any other 2.0 EcoBoost model.
Why is my 2013 or 2014 car not covered?
The hardware is not the obstacle. Those cars use an ECU that current tuning tools cannot use to drive the pump solenoid, so the calibration side is unvalidated.
Do I need injectors as well?
On a standard-turbo car the pump is usually the first thing in the way and the part that improves midrange fuelling. Injectors matter more once you are chasing high-rpm power on a bigger turbo.
