The Focus RS responds well to modification right up to the point where the standard fuel system says no, and on a 2.3 EcoBoost that arrives sooner than most owners expect. This is Nostrum's Big Bore high pressure fuel pump kit for the RS, the larger of its two RS pumps and the one with the full specification published: 1.83 cc/rev, 63 percent more flow than the factory pump, and 240 bar working pressure. It is a laser-welded stainless assembly, production tested, and it ships with the custom high pressure tube and mounting flange rather than leaving you to source them. That buys boost brought in earlier and held, ethanol capability, and enough headroom that the pump stops being the thing a tuner works around.
Nostrum sells two pump sizes for this car. The 1050-250 Standard Bore Plus kit is the smaller body for a stock-turbo car. This Big Bore is the one for a build going somewhere: more displacement per revolution means more fuel low and mid-range, where the pump turns slowly and struggles most to keep up. It is also the pump Nostrum pairs with its Race injectors, so it keeps the door open later.
This is not a bare pump. Alongside the welded stainless assembly you get the accessories the job needs, including the high pressure tube and mounting flange, plus a printed install guide, with a tuning guide available through dealers. The standard low-pressure feed line is retained, keeping the install at the top of the engine.
Nostrum covers the 2016 onwards Ford Focus RS. A tune is required; Nostrum lists COBB, HP Tuners and SCT, and names ECUTek in its description too, so confirm the platform with your tuner before booking the car in. The RS pump uses its own mounting flange, which will not interchange with the 2.3 Mustang or Ranger pumps, so order RS-specific service parts if you need them. If you are unsure, use a professional fitter.

A direct injection system is usually pump-limited in the midrange and injector-limited at high rpm. The pump fixes the first, felt as torque and boost response rather than a new peak figure.
If your injectors are still standard and you know they are next, the Stage 2 bundle holds this same Big Bore pump with a matched injector set and saves a second job.
Nostrum quotes 240 bar for this kit without making a sensor upgrade a condition on the RS, unlike the smaller Ford applications. Your tuner will confirm what the car can command on the ramp.
