When your JL or JT needs ball joints, KIT113 gives you a more substantial replacement with forged steel housings, chromoly studs and bronze bearings. The kit covers both front upper and lower positions with two BJ160 uppers and two BJ161 lowers. This is the smooth, un-knurled housing version for the Wrangler JL 2018-2026 and Gladiator JT 2019-2026 4WD applications.

Each polished stud runs in a bronze bearing inside a CNC-machined SAE 1045 forged steel housing. Bronze provides a durable, low-friction bearing surface, while induction heat treatment strengthens the SAE 4140 chromoly studs at the working areas. These are the details that make the upgrade more than a new set of rubber boots on the axle.
KIT113 has smooth, un-knurled housings. They suit mounting bores that retain the correct press fit, commonly on a newer Jeep or one still on its original joints. Previously replaced or worn bores need inspecting before another set is pressed in. Knurling is a different housing selection, not a substitute for repairing a damaged mounting bore.
The CR rubber boots use an internal seal to help keep contaminants away from the bearing. Pre-threaded grease-fitting ports and included zerks make servicing straightforward, with grease grooves distributing lubricant around the stud. The E-coat finish provides protection for the housings, and Grade 8 / class 10.9 hardware and castle nuts are supplied.
We recommend professional fitting, inspection of the joint mounting bores and a wheel alignment afterwards. Include the grease fittings and rubber boots in your regular front-end checks, particularly after muddy or wet use. The joints arrive pre-greased; add grease as required without overfilling the boots.
For a JL or JT with the wide factory Dana 44 axle, our KIT125D44NF 2.5 Ton ProLock steering kit replaces the tie rod and drag link. That linked version is no flip, normally for lifts up to 4.5 in, and needs a separate stabiliser bracket; it is a different purchase from these ball joints.
