Worn ball joints can take the enjoyment out of driving your Jeep. Apex KIT102 replaces both front uppers and lowers with forged steel housings, induction-treated chromoly studs and bearings chosen for each position. The four-piece kit fits the Wrangler JK 2007-2018 4WD and Grand Cherokee 1999-2004 in 2WD or 4WD form.

The BJ107 uppers use dual-carbon bearings with a plunger-style stud, allowing vertical movement while controlling lateral movement. The BJ109 lowers use low-friction acetal bearings around polished studs. Acetal remains dimensionally stable through changes in temperature and exposure to water or oil, making it well suited to a joint that lives close to the road.
Both upper and lower housings are knurled SAE 1045 forged steel, CNC machined for the bearing fit. The SAE 4140 chromoly studs are hot forged and induction heat treated, with rolled and stepped threads. The knurled housing is an aftermarket press-fit selection; the mounting bores still need to be sound and checked before installation.
The CR rubber pancake boots protect the joints, while the lower angled grease-fitting housings make routine servicing easier. The joints arrive pre-greased, and the included fittings and grease grooves let you keep them lubricated. E-coat protects the housings, with Grade 8 / class 10.9 hardware and castle nuts included.
We recommend professional fitting, inspection of the joint mounting bores and a wheel alignment afterwards. Include the grease fittings and rubber boots in your regular front-end checks, particularly after muddy or wet use. The joints arrive pre-greased; add grease as required without overfilling the boots.
On the 2007-2018 Wrangler JK only, our KIT140NF 2.5 Ton ProLock steering kit upgrades the tie rod and drag link. That version is for stock Dana 30/44 axles, retains no-flip mounting and is normally suggested for lifts up to 3.5 in; its steering stabiliser bracket is separate. The linked kit is not a Grand Cherokee application.

It replaces the ball joints, so it addresses play when those joints are worn. A full front-end inspection is still needed to identify other contributors to wobble.
