Staun.
Preset tyre deflation for the off-road routine.
Staun specialises in automatic tyre deflators, with Australian-made products developed around a familiar off-road task: reducing tyre pressure before driving on appropriate terrain. The original deflator range has been available since 1998 and uses an adjustable preset mechanism, allowing each unit to work towards the pressure you have set. At Hoonies, the current offer is the 6–30 PSI tyre-deflator set shown in the product listing. Choose it around the pressures you need to set and the tyres you use, then follow the setup procedure for that exact product. A pressure gauge and suitable means of reinflation remain part of the wider plan, with the tyre, load and terrain determining the appropriate pressure.
Preset adjustment · Valve fittingWhy we choose Staun
We choose Staun for its focused solution to a repeated part of off-road preparation. A preset deflator gives the pressure-reduction task a defined process, while the adjustable range lets the customer set it for the intended use. That practical purpose is the reason to consider the product. The target pressure still needs to be chosen responsibly for the tyres and load, with verification and reinflation planned alongside the deflators.
Set the target before the trip
Staun’s adjustable mechanism is designed to work towards a preset pressure. The initial setup procedure is therefore part of using the product, rather than an optional detail. Follow the instructions for the exact deflator and verify the setting with a suitable gauge before relying on it during a trip.
A compact tool for a familiar task
The original Staun design focuses on tyre deflation, with an automatic mechanism contained in the valve-mounted unit. That makes it a specific tool within an off-road kit. Match the listed pressure range to the job and distinguish the product here from other Staun generations with different features or adjustment arrangements.
Deflation belongs within a pressure plan
Tyre construction, vehicle load and terrain affect the pressure that is appropriate for the conditions. The deflator does not choose that value for you. Use a gauge to check the result and plan how you will reinflate before returning to the pressures required for subsequent driving.
- Set the target Choose the pressure appropriate to the vehicle and conditions.
- Fit the deflators Follow the setting and attachment instructions.
- Check the result Verify with a gauge and remove the deflators before driving.
Staun questions, answered
Does the 6–30 PSI range tell me what pressure to use?
No. It describes the tool’s adjustment range, not a recommendation for every tyre or vehicle.
Do I still need a gauge and compressor?
A gauge checks the actual pressure; suitable inflation equipment lets you restore the required pressure afterwards.
