Make more room inside your vehicle by carrying gear on the roof
The right mounting kit is what turns a separate BASE Rack platform into a roof rack for your Volkswagen Transporter SWB H1. ARB's 17970060 kit gives you the vehicle-specific mounting arrangement, so you can carry bulky equipment above the cabin and keep more room inside for passengers, tools or camping gear.
SKU: XRR17970060
This is the mounting kit for Volkswagen Transporter SWB H1. Fits 2125 x 1285mm (1770040) or 2125 x 1445mm (1770100) BASE Rack platforms. The 2125 x 1445mm platform is available separately. The BASE Rack platform is selected separately; the mount kit and rack must be matched as a complete installation.
A correctly matched platform gives you useful space for equipment that would otherwise fill the cabin. Choose the rack size around what you actually carry and keep room for doors, aerials and other roof accessories to operate.
The separate BASE Rack platform uses dovetail accessory mounting, which makes it straightforward to place tie-downs and other accessories where you need them. Browse our roof rack accessories for options such as BASE Rack eyebolts, ratchet straps, awning mounts and recovery-board carriers. Choose each accessory to match the rack and equipment you plan to carry.
The 17970060 application is for short-wheelbase, standard-height H1 vehicles. The complete rack arrangement adds approximately 50mm to the vehicle height. Long-wheelbase and higher-roof vans use different arrangements, so wheelbase and roof height matter as much as the Transporter name.
The vehicle's roof limit, rack/mount rating and any accessory-specific limits all apply. Include the weight of the rack, mounting kit and accessories before adding your gear, and use the lowest applicable limit. Secure the load properly and recheck the mounting and tie-downs after the first trip and during regular use.
For UK customers, prices include VAT, customs and delivery unless checkout states otherwise. For customers outside the UK, local customs and taxes remain your responsibility, and shipping is shown at checkout. If a shipping option is not available, email us and we will prepare a tailored quote.
Many of the products we sell are made to order, imported or custom built, so a lead time may apply. If you need a part urgently, contact us before ordering and we will confirm the expected delivery timeframe and process.
