The Apex Chassis Heavy Duty Tie Rod Kit for the Tacoma reinforces the weakest link in a worked Tacoma's steering. Factory tie rods on the 2005-2023 Tacoma are a known casualty of bigger tyres, lifts and hard trail use - they bend and wear where the steering needs them rigid. This kit replaces them with oversized, pre-assembled inner and outer tie rod assemblies in CNC-machined SAE 1045 forged steel with SAE 4140 chromoly ball studs, for both sides of the truck, suitable up to a 3 inch lift. It is a genuine Apex Chassis part, imported to the UK.
The tie rods turn steering input into wheel direction, and they take the hit when a rut grabs a front wheel. Compared with replacing bent factory rods like-for-like, this kit's oversized forged construction, E-coat corrosion protection and CR rubber boots are built for repeat abuse - and the assemblies arrive pre-set for both sides, so installation is straightforward with no drilling or modification.
