This 1835 x 1285 mm ARB BASE Rack kit provides a flat roof platform for bulky equipment, with an accessory mounting system that makes it easier to arrange the load around the way you travel or work. It is the Land Rover Defender 110 1983-2016 application.

Move suitable bulky bags and equipment onto the roof and leave more room inside for the things you want close to hand. The flat platform lets you arrange a load around what you are taking, whether that is camping equipment for a weekend away or awkward items for the working day. Secure the load with the correct restraints and leave enough room for any other roof equipment.
Dovetail profiles run around the perimeter and across the beams. BASE Rack accessories can attach at the position you need, without sliding each fitting in from the end of a conventional channel. That makes it easier to move things around when you change what you carry. T-slot accessories need the correct adapter to connect to the dovetail.
The fully welded aluminium platform gives you an open, flat deck with a black powder-coated finish. Keeping the platform itself relatively light leaves more of the available roof allowance for equipment, although the installed rack and mounts still count towards your vehicle's limits.
The platform measures 1835 x 1285 mm; those are rack dimensions, not your usable roof-load allowance. Use this vehicle-specific kit for the application named above. Existing roof furniture, vents and other accessories still need clearance around the platform and its mounts.
Work to the lowest applicable limit for the vehicle, mounts and rack, including any off-road reduction. Subtract the installed rack and mounting weight from the vehicle roof allowance before adding cargo. Spread and secure the load: the BASE Rack limit is 25 kg per beam, and that does not override a lower limit elsewhere in the system.
Our BASE Rack ratchet straps connect directly to the dovetail and come as a pair. If you want lashing points for suitable straps you already own, the BASE Rack eyebolt tie-down set gives you four adjustable points. Both are available separately.

No. The vehicle limit still applies, and it includes the weight of the platform and its mounting system. A rack rating on its own is not your available cargo capacity.
BASE Rack uses a dovetail attachment system. Use compatible mounts, or the appropriate adapters for existing T-slot accessories.
Only with a tent and mounting arrangement approved for the complete setup. Check driving and parked load limits separately, including the tent, mounts, occupants and bedding where applicable.
This order is for the roof rack kit. Storage boxes, recovery boards, lights, tents and their accessory mounts are separate unless specifically listed with the kit.
