The Apex Chassis HD Ball Joint Kit for the Jeep JK and Grand Cherokee puts tight, confident steering back into a Jeep front axle. On a Wrangler JK (2007-2018) or Grand Cherokee (1999-2004), worn ball joints show up as wander on the motorway, vibration through the wheel and vague response on the trail - and lifted setups with larger tyres wear the factory joints even faster. This kit replaces the front joints with forged steel housings and heat-treated chromoly studs built to carry that load. It is a genuine Apex Chassis part, imported to the UK.
The ball joints locate the steering knuckle on the axle, so every input - steering, braking, articulation - passes through them. Once they wear, no amount of tracking adjustment brings back precision. Compared with fitting another set of factory-style joints, this kit's CNC-machined forged housings and polished chromoly studs are built for the loads a modified or hard-driven Jeep actually sees.

Ball joint replacement on these axles is a press-in job, so plan the right tooling or a workshop visit, and book an alignment afterwards. If you are curing death wobble, inspect track bar, tie rod ends and steering damper at the same time so one worn part does not mask another.

Worn ball joints are a common contributor. This kit replaces them with heavy-duty units, but check the track bar, tie rod ends and damper too - wobble usually has more than one worn part behind it.
Yes - the 1999-2004 Grand Cherokee application covers 2WD and 4WD. The Wrangler JK application is 4WD.
