Keep the canopy easier to pack and use
Chairs, mats and other bulky equipment need not take up all the useful space inside your D-Max canopy. This 1835 x 1285 mm BASE Rack package gives the matched ARB Ascent canopy a carrying platform above it, with flexible accessory mounting to help organise your gear. It is a canopy-mounted system for the Mk6 Double Cab application, leaving the cab roof as a separate area.

The 1835 x 1285 mm platform gives you a clear area to organise suitable roof loads. Moving lightweight, bulky items outside helps keep the cabin or rear storage area easier to access. Keep heavier equipment low in the vehicle and use the roof for loads that suit both the platform and the vehicle's roof limits.
Dovetail grooves run along both sides of the crossbeams and around the perimeter. Matching clamp mounts make accessories quick to attach and let you move one fitting without sliding every other fitting out of the way. You can change the load for a weekend away, add an awning or move a tie-down to where it is most useful.
The fully welded aluminium platform gives your equipment a strong, reliable base without the bulk of a tall rack. Internal bracing strengthens the beams without increasing their outside dimensions, keeping the platform slim and leaving more room for the equipment above it. The black powder-coated finish looks at home on an everyday vehicle as well as one packed for a trip.
The low-profile design helps reduce wind noise, making long drives more relaxing. Removable UV-resistant aluminium corner caps give access to the internal channels, so suitable accessory cables can be tucked inside the rack instead of running across the outside. It is a neat way to finish an added lighting installation; lights and wiring are selected separately.
The platform arrives fully assembled with the matching canopy mounts included. Install it with the Ascent canopy's matched internal roof-support arrangement.
This system mounts above the specified ARB Ascent canopy. The matched internal roof-support arrangement carries the rack load; canopy-shell strength alone is not the load limit to use. Include the rack, supports, accessories and cargo when working within the canopy and vehicle limits.
Make the rack work for the equipment you take with you. Our roof rack accessories range includes BASE Rack awning brackets for a suitable awning, shovel holders to keep a muddy shovel outside, and jerry-can mounts to secure a compatible container. Choose the matching BASE Rack fitting for each accessory and include its weight in your roof load.
For everyday load restraint, add BASE Rack eyebolt tie-downs where you need them and use 3 m BASE Rack ratchet straps to secure appropriate loads. Accessories are sold separately. Compatible existing T-slot fittings can also be used with the appropriate dovetail adapters.

Use the lowest limit for the vehicle, mounting system and rack, with the rack, mounts and accessories included in the total. The 25 kg-per-beam figure is a component limit, so spreading a load does not increase the vehicle's roof capacity.
The dovetail system accepts matching BASE Rack accessory mounts. Choose the mount for the accessory and its weight, and include the accessory in the total roof load.
Appropriate T-slot adapters allow compatible fittings to be used with the dovetail system. The adapter and accessory must be suited to the load you intend to carry.
The low-profile platform helps reduce wind noise. Cargo and accessories also affect airflow, so keeping the load tidy and well secured helps you make the most of the design.
The linked eyebolt tie-downs, ratchet straps and other accessory holders are purchased separately. You can add the fittings that suit your equipment.
