From 120i to 430i, the 2.0T B48 powers the late F-chassis range with quiet competence - emphasis on quiet. This MST Performance cold air intake system replaces the restrictive standard air box with precision-engineered aluminium pipework, designed to accelerate airflow into the turbo and cut turbulence. The four-cylinder gains a cleaner intake route and an audible character under load, and one part number covers 2016-on B48 cars across the 1, 2, 3 and 4 Series. All fittings for a direct OEM-replacement install are supplied.
The B48 is deliberately understated, but its intake does not have to be. MST build their kits with top-quality components around a simple aim - faster, smoother air with minimal restriction. Fitted to a standard or already-tuned car, the change registers as a cleaner feed to the turbo and an intake note that arrives when you accelerate and disappears when you cruise.
The B48 arrived during 2015-2016, overlapping the older N20 - so a 2016 build date alone does not settle which engine you have. Check the engine code: pre-2016 N20 cars use the MST N20 intake kit instead. Then match your chassis code to the table below and confirm the part number before ordering.
