The Nostrum BMW B58 Gen 1 Gauntlet HPFP Kit replaces the factory high pressure fuel pump on a tuned 340i, 440i, M240i, 540i, 740i, X3 or X4 with Nostrum's cast stainless Gauntlet pump, flowing 68% more than stock at 1.603 cc/rev and rated to 240 bar. On a B58 running more boost or an ethanol blend, the cam-driven pump decides whether rail pressure holds at the top of a pull; when it cannot keep up, pressure drops away where the engine needs fuel most and the tune has to be backed off. The kit arrives as a complete job, and Nostrum specifies a plug and play install with zero hardware modifications that is fully reversible if the car goes back to standard.
The stock pump is sized around stock outputs and pump petrol. Raise either and it spends the whole pull at maximum output, which shows up as falling rail pressure rather than a warning light. Sixty-eight percent more flow means the pressure target set at 2,000 rpm is still met at the limiter, and the cast stainless body is built around the pressure it holds.
Match your car to the table below before ordering. The kit does not suit Gen 2 or Gen 3 B58 engines, or a Gen 1 fitted with the Dorch camshaft pump lobe, and a tune must be loaded before the engine is started. Pair it with matched Stage 1 injectors, or take the Stage 1 Gauntlet bundle to get both sized to each other.
