Volkswagen tuned the MK7 Golf 1.5 TSI EVO for economy and silence; the restrictive standard air box is a big part of that. This MST Performance cold air intake system replaces it with precision-engineered aluminium pipework built for faster, smoother airflow into the turbo. Day to day the Golf keeps its manners, but ask for acceleration and the EVO engine answers with an actual induction note. Fits 2017-on MK7 cars with the 1.5 TSI EVO; all fittings for a direct OEM-replacement install come supplied.
MST's intakes follow the principle their kits have used since 2011: accelerate the air, minimise turbulence, remove restriction. On a compact turbo engine like the 1.5 EVO, a clean intake route makes the car feel more eager and sound more alive, whether it is standard or already carrying a tune. The aluminium construction also keeps its shape where soft factory plumbing cannot.
For the MK7 Golf 1.5 TSI EVO only, 2017 on - GTI, R and 1.0 TSI cars use different kits. Note that MST list two intake designs for this engine: this is MK801, and the alternative MK99907 design is listed separately. Compare photos of both, then confirm the part number before ordering.
