In the G22-generation 4 Series the 3.0T B58 is superb but almost inaudible. This MST Performance cold air intake system replaces the restrictive standard air box with precision-engineered aluminium pipework, shaped to accelerate airflow into the turbo while minimising turbulence and restriction. The payoff on an M440i-class coupe or convertible is a straight six you can actually hear working, plus a hard, heat-stable intake route. Covers G22, G23, G82 and G83 chassis codes with the B58 from 2019 on, with all fittings for a direct OEM-replacement install.
MST's design goal is simple: move air into the engine faster with less turbulence and less restriction, using top-quality components throughout. On the B58 that means a cleaner route feeding the turbo and a proper induction note under load - while normal driving stays as quiet as BMW built it. The kit suits standard cars and already-tuned ones, so it fits any stage of ownership.
For G22/G23/G82/G83-generation 4 Series cars with the 3.0T B58 petrol six, 2019 on. Four-cylinder 420i models and diesels use different intakes, and S58-engined M3/M4 Competition cars are covered by a separate MST part - so check your engine code and confirm the part number against your exact car before ordering.

No - the M4 Competition uses the S58 engine, which takes a different MST part. This kit is for the 3.0T B58 in the standard 4 Series range, such as the M440i.
The change is load-dependent: expect a stronger induction note when accelerating and near-standard behaviour at a cruise.
