A more satisfying brake upgrade for Mazda RX-8
Enjoy a more responsive brake setup with EBC fine-slotted USR discs and Yellowstuff or Bluestuff pads for Mazda RX-8 2003-2012. This package covers the front axle, with the disc and pad references matched to the original brake configurations shown below.
Fine-slotted discs for a road-friendly upgrade
USR discs use fine slots to give you a sport disc with less groove-related wind noise than EBC's wider-grooved GD design. The discs and performance pads are supplied together for the stated axle, making this a useful upgrade when you want more pad bite while retaining the correct factory brake layout.
A protective finish for the discs
The Thermic anti-corrosion coating protects the discs before fitting and helps keep the non-contact areas protected in use. The pads sweep the working faces as the brakes bed in. Caliper lubricant is supplied with the kit for the appropriate fitting points.

- Find your exact model, engine and year in the fitment table, then match any original brake-package notes or measurements.
- Match the disc size and pad reference to the brakes fitted to your car.
- Choose from the pad compounds offered for that application. Each fitment row identifies the eligible kit codes.
Which pad compound suits you?
Yellowstuff: We recommend Yellowstuff for fast-road use, with strong cold bite and a high-friction feel. It is the road-focused choice here. EBC no longer recommends Yellowstuff for track use on most cars because of its longer bedding process.
Bluestuff: Bluestuff is the choice for drivers who also want to enjoy short track sessions. It bites from cold once bedded and offers a higher heat margin than Yellowstuff. Bed it correctly before track use and check remaining pad material frequently during a track day.

Fitting and bedding in
Professional fitting is recommended. Follow the fitting and bedding instructions for the supplied parts, and allow the pads to bed correctly before demanding full braking performance. The condition and operation of the calipers, hubs and other braking components also matter to the finished result.
For Bluestuff track use, bed the pads on the road first and inspect pad wear every ten laps, as EBC recommends for its USR/Bluestuff kits. Plan enough remaining pad material for the journey home.

What is included in an axle kit?
A pair of USR discs and the matching pad set for the axle stated against the selected kit code. The component table lists the exact references; calipers are a separate purchase.
Will I need to change my calipers?
The kit is a direct replacement for the matching factory brake setup. Keep the original calipers for that application and match the listed disc measurements, pad references and any brake-package conditions.
How does USR compare with wider-grooved discs?
USR's fine slots reduce groove-related wind noise compared with EBC's wider-grooved GD discs. It is a useful choice when you want a sport disc while keeping road noise in mind.
What warranty is supplied?
