Cold food, camp lighting and charged devices make a trip away easier to enjoy. The ARB Slimline 100 puts 100 Ah of lithium battery capacity and a 40 A DC-DC charger into a case only 50 mm deep, giving you more freedom to find a useful place for it inside the vehicle. It is a compact auxiliary-power option for equipment you want to run while camped.

At 712 x 266 x 50 mm, the battery can fit into spaces that are awkward for a conventional battery box. The integrated charger also avoids needing a separate DC-DC unit beside it. The four reinforced mounting holes provide fixing points, with the mounting location and vehicle bracket selected around a secure, clean and dry installation.
The built-in 40 A charger accepts a correctly wired alternator input and includes MPPT control for a suitable solar input. Standard and smart-alternator systems are supported with the appropriate wiring. When both inputs qualify for charging, the alternator takes priority; they are not added together as one combined charging current.
A suitable solar panel can help replenish energy while parked, with the result depending on the panel, sun and electrical installation. Charging does not guarantee unlimited runtime for the equipment connected to it.
The Bluetooth app gives access to battery state of charge, voltage, current and diagnostic information. You can see how your equipment is using power instead of judging only by whether it is still running. Status lights and a master switch are provided on the unit itself.
The battery has a nominal 12.8 V, 100 Ah capacity, equivalent to 1280 Wh. Nominal discharge is 100 A at 25 degrees C, with a maximum of 200 A for 20 minutes and a 350 A peak for five seconds. Those short-duration limits are not continuous operating ratings.
Equipment that needs mains power requires a suitable separate inverter, with correctly sized cables and protection. Battery runtime depends on usable energy, the equipment's demand and charging conditions; nominal capacity alone is not a promise of a particular number of hours.
The battery management system monitors voltage, temperature and current, with protections for abnormal conditions and cell balancing. Charging is suspended when the cells are too cold, then resumes when they warm sufficiently. The replaceable 300 A Mega fuse has an inspection window, making it easier to check without dismantling the installation.
For a Ranger Double Cab from 2023 onwards, our Slimline battery mounting kit is the vehicle-specific option to consider. For a compatible drawer installation, the under-drawer mounting bracket offers a different way to use the available space. Both are separate mounting accessories, selected for the actual installation.
The Slimline battery is for a clean, dry location inside the vehicle. It is not an under-bonnet battery or an exposed external mounting solution.

The 40 A DC-DC charger is built into the battery, with MPPT control for a suitable solar input. The installation still needs correctly rated wiring, protection and mounting.
The unit accepts both input types, but the alternator has priority when both qualify. Do not add the two sources together as a combined charging-current rating.
Choose a clean, dry location inside the vehicle. It is not designed for under-bonnet or exposed external installation.
That needs a separate inverter suited to the appliance and this battery's discharge limits, with correctly sized cables and protection. The 200 A and 350 A figures are time-limited ratings.
The battery protects its cells by suspending charging when they are too cold. Charging resumes once the cells have warmed sufficiently.
Pre-charge it, understand the equipment's demand, monitor state of charge and provide suitable alternator or solar replenishment. The right usable energy reserve depends on what you run and for how long.
