The rear differential is the lowest hard point at the back of a Touareg or Cayenne, and it stays low whatever the air suspension does, which is why rock shelves and steep ramp transitions find it. This Almont rear differential skid plate wraps that casting in 8mm certified EN AW-5083 H111 duralumin at 10 kg, so contact that would crack a housing and drain the axle becomes a scrape on replaceable plate. It completes the rear of the shared-platform range alongside the arm and shock plates.
