A first-generation Touareg or Cayenne is one of the great used 4x4 bargains - until a rock or a hidden kerb finds the low-hanging front underside these SUVs carry. This Almont front skid plate covers the Volkswagen Touareg 7L 2004-2010 across all engines, and the Porsche Cayenne 9PA 2003-2010 with the original bumper, using a 20.5 kg plate of 8 mm EN AW-5083 H111 duralumin. It is the heaviest-hitting piece in the set: the plate that meets ground first when a green lane, snow bank or track approach turns out to be rockier than it looked.
This is the standard-height version for the original bumper; vehicles running a body lift kit take the separate body-lift front plate instead. Raised suspension is fine, and the plate anchors to the chassis' original holes and threads. Cayenne owners with aftermarket bumpers should check the bumper model with us before ordering. Most owners continue under the transmission with one of Almont's engine-specific plates, such as the gearbox and transfer plate.
