Carry your regular equipment with suspension chosen for the job
A pickup that carries tools or camping equipment most days needs springs chosen around that weight. The Old Man Emu EL130R medium rear leaf springs give you a considered alternative to building your suspension around an empty load bed. They suit the Ford Ranger Mk8 / Volkswagen Amarok Mk3, 2023 onwards, in the applicable leaf-sprung rear suspension configuration.

A medium spring choice should reflect the vehicle as you normally drive it, including permanent accessories and the load that is usually on board. Occasional holiday luggage and a permanently fitted canopy, drawers or tools affect spring selection differently. We can help you choose the combination that suits your actual use, rather than simply picking the highest load option.
The matched OME application provides approximately 40mm of rear lift. The final height depends on vehicle specification, equipment and load; it is an installation outcome, rather than the spring's free camber. Pairing the springs with the appropriate dampers gives the suspension room to move and helps control the extra weight.
The pack uses four primary leaves plus one additional leaf, with a 56mm stack height. Its 192mm primary free camber describes the uninstalled spring shape. The front and rear eye diameters are 50mm and 32.7mm respectively, useful details for selecting the matching mounting components.
The Wildtrak application is approximately 10-15mm lower in rear ride height because of its additional vehicle weight. Use that condition when planning the complete front and rear result.
The leaf pack has progressive rates of 37.4 and 97.8N/mm, becoming firmer as it compresses. This gives the installer a clear spring specification alongside the application and regular-load choice.
Fit the required FK116 differential-breather extension with this EL130R installation. An FK113 driveline spacer kit is recommended, and the FK115 bump-stop adaptor kit is strongly recommended. XL models with the relevant handbrake layout also require the FK158 clearance kit. Where automatic headlight levelling is fitted, the installation needs the appropriate FK114 adjustment. Use the U-bolts, bushes and shackles specified for your particular installation. Airbags are not recommended with these OME multi-leaf springs. The finished vehicle needs an alignment and checks of driveline angles, brake lines and component clearances.
Changing the springs does not increase the vehicle's legal payload or axle limits. Plan the load within those limits and select the spring and damper combination together.
