A pickup's fuel tank hangs between the chassis rails with very little beneath it, and on a rock step, a rutted crest or a scrap-strewn yard it is the tank that grounds out. This Almont fuel tank skid plate for the 2023-on Volkswagen Amarok 2.0 TDI and 3.0 V6 TDI puts 15 kg of certified EN AW-5083 H111 duralumin, 6 mm SportDuty grade, between that tank and the ground, so a scrape or strike marks the plate rather than the one component that ends a trip instantly when it splits.
Almont cuts the plate to the Amarok floorpan and mounts it to the original chassis holes with steel brackets and pre-installed bolts, so nothing is drilled or modified. The mounts are designed to soak up impacts and vibration. Start the build with the front skid plate and add the gearbox and transfer plate for continuous cover from nose to tank.
