A rocky climb is easier to enjoy when your Prado's transmission has substantial protection beneath it. This Almont plate covers the gearbox and transfer case on the KDJ120/KDJ125 V6 petrol application, with a choice of 6 mm SportDuty or 8 mm HeavyDuty duralumin.
The 6 mm plate weighs 12 kg and suits lighter off-road use. For a heavier vehicle or demanding rocky travel, we recommend the 8 mm HeavyDuty version, which weighs 13 kg. Both use the same certified alloy; the extra thickness is the reason to choose HeavyDuty.
Certified AW5083 H111 duralumin gives you substantial, high-strength alloy protection without the material weight of steel of the same size and thickness. The plate will not develop red rust if its surface is scratched, so it is a good choice for a vehicle you intend to keep and use. Wash off mud and road salt to look after the alloy and the separate steel mounting hardware.

Pressure wash the protection at least once a year, or two or three times a year if you regularly drive in mud or road salt. Check bolt tightness annually and follow the fitting instructions when refitting a plate after maintenance.

The duralumin plate will not form red rust when scratched. Wash off mud and road salt to help prevent other corrosion and to look after the separate steel brackets and fixings.
Almont provides three years of cover against cracking of the plate. Dents, deformation and damage to the vehicle are excluded.
