Your J250 has important hardware beneath the centre of the vehicle as well as up front. This Almont guard protects the gearbox and transfer case, plus the central differential-lock, AdBlue and particulate-filter equipment where fitted. Choose 6 mm or 8 mm certified duralumin for more reassurance when the track gets rough.
Modern off-road capability relies on electronics as well as substantial transmission casings. This centre guard extends protection around both the gearbox/transfer assembly and the listed systems fitted to your J250. SportDuty weighs 13 kg; HeavyDuty weighs 16 kg, giving you a clear thickness and weight choice.
Choose PDT25B for 6 mm SportDuty at 13 kg, or PDT25B8 for 8 mm HeavyDuty at 16 kg. PDT25B is the complete 6 mm SKU; it does not have a 6 suffix.
The material is a large part of what makes Almont protection worth considering. Certified AW5083 H111 duralumin combines high strength with less material weight than steel of the same size and thickness. A scrape will not start red rust in the alloy plate, helping it stay a worthwhile long-term addition to your vehicle. Mud and road salt should still be washed off, including from the separate steel brackets and fixings.
Almont has specialised in vehicle protection since 1992, with input from vehicle preparers involved in the Dakar Rally and other rally-raid events. For the leading underside, we would add the separate J250 front guard with recovery point. The fuel tank guard protects another area further back.
Pressure wash the protection at least once a year, or two or three times a year if you regularly drive in mud or road salt. Check bolt tightness annually and follow the fitting instructions when refitting a plate after maintenance.
PDT25B is 6 mm SportDuty at 13 kg. PDT25B8 is 8 mm HeavyDuty at 16 kg. We would favour HeavyDuty for a heavily equipped J250 and more demanding rough-ground travel.
It also protects the listed central differential-lock, AdBlue and particulate-filter electronics where those systems are fitted to the vehicle.

The duralumin plate will not form red rust when scratched. Wash off mud and road salt to help prevent other corrosion and to look after the separate steel brackets and fixings.
Almont provides three years of cover against cracking of the plate. Dents, deformation and damage to the vehicle are excluded.
