Your Prado can take you a long way from the tarmac. Give its gearbox and transfer case a proper barrier against rough-ground contact with this Almont duralumin guard for the KDJ150/KDJ155 V6 petrol application from 2009.
SportDuty 6 mm weighs 12 kg and is our choice for lighter off-road driving. HeavyDuty 8 mm weighs 13 kg and is better suited to heavier vehicles and more demanding rocky trips. The plate sits beneath the transmission, extending protection behind the required front guard.
The material is a large part of what makes Almont protection worth considering. Certified AW5083 H111 duralumin combines high strength with less material weight than steel of the same size and thickness. A scrape will not start red rust in the alloy plate, helping it stay a worthwhile long-term addition to your vehicle. Mud and road salt should still be washed off, including from the separate steel brackets and fixings.

Uses the vehicle's original holes and threads with the supplied mounting supports and fixings. Follow the fitting instructions and check clearances on your vehicle.

Add the required KDJ150/KDJ155 front guard when fitting this transmission plate; choose the option for your bumper and whether your vehicle has KDSS. Diesel models use the separate Prado diesel gearbox and transfer guard, which also requires its own matching front guard.
Pressure wash the protection at least once a year, or two or three times a year if you regularly drive in mud or road salt. Check bolt tightness annually and follow the fitting instructions when refitting a plate after maintenance.

The duralumin plate will not form red rust when scratched. Wash off mud and road salt to help prevent other corrosion and to look after the separate steel brackets and fixings.
Almont provides three years of cover against cracking of the plate. Dents, deformation and damage to the vehicle are excluded.
