The Safari snorkel made for your narrow-body Hilux
When your trips take you onto dusty tracks, a raised intake is a useful addition to your Toyota Hilux. The Safari SS124HF moves the engine's air entry higher on the vehicle, away from much of the dust and spray around the original intake, while retaining a connection to the factory air-cleaner system.

This V-Spec kit suits the Toyota Hilux narrow-body Double Cab, 2016-2020, with the 2.4 or 2.8 D-4D diesel engine application. The snorkel body, connecting hose and fitting template are designed for that installation. The narrow-body shape is important: this SS124HF version is distinct from the wide-body SS123HF.
The air-ram head separates rainwater from the incoming air and lets it drain away before the air reaches the intake duct. UV-stable, cross-linked polyethylene is suited to prolonged sun exposure, while stainless-steel mounting hardware helps the snorkel stand up to regular use outdoors.
A snorkel does not replace the air filter: the factory filter still performs the filtration. The advantage is moving the intake to a higher position, with a tough vehicle-specific body and a managed path into the airbox.
The kit mounts on the right-hand side and includes the snorkel body, air-ram head, connecting hose, brackets, fasteners and guard template. Installation involves cutting and drilling the bodywork, sealing the intake connections and protecting the cut edges. A competent professional installation is worthwhile for a neat fit and a correctly sealed air path.
Keep the air-ram head clear and continue the vehicle's normal air-filter servicing, especially after dusty trips. For water crossings, follow the vehicle's own wading limit and preparation requirements; a raised intake alone does not make the vehicle waterproof.
