Fuel tanks fail quietly and expensively: one sharp rock under a loaded Vigo Hilux and the trip ends where the diesel runs out of the split. This Almont plate stands between the Vigo's tank and that rock, 10 kg of laser-cut 6 mm EN AW-5083 H111 duralumin bolted to the original chassis points with steel brackets. The tank stops being the most fragile thing mid-wheelbase, and rutted crests go back to being ordinary driving instead of held breath.

Almont builds this tank plate in SportDuty 6 mm only. Tank strikes are usually scrapes and blunt contact rather than the square-on hits the nose takes, and 6 mm keeps the added weight at 10 kg.
Almont suggests a pressure wash once a year - more often after salty or very muddy ground - and an annual check of bolt tightness. That is the whole maintenance schedule.
