Rear dampers are the forgotten casualty of rocky tracks: the shock bodies on an HDJ80 hang beside the axle in clear reach of stones thrown up by the tyres and of rocks the axle drags over. Dent a damper body and it seizes or leaks - either way you are buying shocks. This Almont set covers both rear units with HeavyDuty 8 mm laser-cut EN AW-5083 H111 duralumin plates, one per side, adding only 4 kg in total for cover that costs far less than one pair of quality dampers.

It is one of the quieter failure modes: a stone dent does not stop the truck immediately, it just ruins damping and finishes the shock early. A 4 kg pair of plates is cheap against that bill.
