The transmission tunnel is the part of a Land Cruiser Prado you cannot see from the driver's seat and the first part the terrain finds on a bad line. For V6 petrol GDJ180/185 trucks, this Almont plate closes off the gearbox and transfer case area in laser-cut EN AW-5083 H111 duralumin, 6 mm or 8 mm thick, so a dragged crest or a square-edged rock spends its energy on alloy rather than on the castings that get you home. Almont designs it to mount linked with the front plate, the two forming one continuous line of cover under the front half of the truck.

6 mm suits lighter off-road use; Almont recommends 8 mm where the truck is heavy or the route is continental overland across desert and rock.
