The FJ Cruiser begs to be driven at terrain that punishes its front underside, and the first rock crest you misjudge goes straight for the area behind the bumper. This Almont front skid plate takes that hit in laser-cut EN AW-5083 H111 duralumin, in SportDuty 6 mm or HeavyDuty 8 mm, so ground contact costs you scratches on a plate rather than damage where it hurts. Almont builds it in five front types: original-bumper versions for 2006-09 (BU11) and 2010-16 (BU09/BU04) trucks, plus versions shaped around ASFIR, Smittybilt and WARN bars.

Go by bumper, not just year. Standard trucks take the BU11 (2006-09) or BU09/BU04 (2010-16) version; if an ASFIR, Smittybilt or WARN bar is fitted, order the version cut for that bar.
Almont suggests 6 mm for lighter 4x4 use such as family trips and green lanes, and 8 mm for heavy vehicles and continental overland travel across desert and rock.
