If your Super Duty tows, carries equipment or regularly uses rough access roads, a steering-link replacement is a good opportunity to upgrade. Apex Chassis KIT375-STL gives your 2017-2026 F-250 or F-350 4WD a complete DOM steel tie rod and drag link assembly, with oversized forged ends and ProLock locking hardware. This is the steel version, finished in matte black powder coat.
SKU: KIT375-STL
Heavy-wall steel and forged joints
The 2 in tie rod tube and 1.75 in drag link tube are made from SAE 1020 DOM steel. The ends screw directly into those connecting tubes, while CNC-machined SAE 1045 housings and induction-treated SAE 4140 chromoly studs provide substantial joint construction. It is an upgrade for the linkage itself, with useful strength and serviceability through the whole assembly.
Adjustment that has more than a jam nut behind it
ProLock keyway washers mechanically connect the rod ends to the adjusting sleeves. Jam nuts with three set screws add further holding, helping resist unwanted rotation under load. The passenger-side tie rod also uses a greaseable high-articulation spherical bushing. A reversible stainless steel taper sleeve at the drag link's damper mount allows the damper to mount from either side when needed.
Choosing compatible stabiliser equipment
This kit excludes wide-track F-250/F-350 models and is incompatible with the BDS Adjustable Trackbar because of operating clearance. A high-mount stabiliser must use the OE-position taper hole at the pitman-arm-side drag link end. Use the supported OE-style arrangement; through-shaft units such as the Fox ATS are excluded from that high-mount recommendation. Dual-stabiliser brackets may need modification because the rod ends are 1/8 in larger in diameter than OE.
Fitting and ongoing checks
Have the linkage fitted and aligned professionally, with clearance checked from lock to lock. Keep anti-seize inside the adjusting sleeve, away from the jam-nut locking surfaces. Check the jam nuts after 500 miles, then every 5,000 miles or at oil changes. The locking hardware is part of the upgrade, and it still needs those routine inspections.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a complete tie rod and drag link kit?
Yes. KIT375-STL replaces both assemblies with the DOM steel version, oversized ends and the ProLock locking hardware.
Will it fit a wide-track Super Duty?
No. Wide-track F-250 and F-350 models are excluded.
Can I use my BDS Adjustable Trackbar?
No. Its adjuster sleeve can contact the Apex drag link in operation.
What should I know about the steering stabiliser?
A high-mount damper must use the OE-position taper hole at the pitman-arm-side drag link end and the supported OE-style arrangement. Through-shaft Fox ATS units are excluded from that recommendation. Dual-stabiliser brackets may need modification for the larger ends.
Will it cure death wobble?
The kit upgrades the tie rod, drag link and adjustment locking. A wobble diagnosis still needs the whole front end checked, including tyres, track bar and ball joints.
How often do I check the jam nuts?
After 500 miles, then every 5,000 miles or at oil changes, following the kit instructions.
