Put the top of your Altitude to work while you are parked
The 804500 solar kit adds a fixed 120W panel arrangement to your ARB Altitude rooftop tent, making use of the tent roof to generate power during the day. It is a useful addition when your trips include time parked at camp and you want solar input as part of a correctly designed battery system.
SKU: XCCS804500
Add solar to the right charging system
The panel output is unregulated. Connect it through a suitable standalone solar regulator or a compatible REDARC BCDC charger with an integrated solar regulator before the battery connection.
120W is the panel rating, rather than a guarantee of output throughout the day. Sunlight, shade, panel temperature and the charging system affect what reaches the battery. The kit is most useful where the vehicle can spend time with the panel exposed to the sun.
Fit it to the Altitude roof
This kit is designed for the ARB Altitude tent. It includes the panel, mounting brackets, socket assembly, connection lead and specified installation fasteners. The regulator or compatible solar-capable charger is a separate part of the electrical installation.
Fitting involves drilling and a cut-out in the specified mounting areas, so use the actual Altitude solar fitting instructions and a competent installer. Once fitted, no additional load is allowed on the tent roof-bar rails with this solar installation.
Keep the installation working on your trips
The fixed panel stays with the tent, so there is no loose panel to unpack at every stop. Keep its surface clean and choose your parking position with shade in mind.
Check the mounting fasteners after 500km and at regular service intervals, along with the condition of the wiring and connections. The completed power system should have the correct cable routing and protection for vehicle use.

Frequently asked questions
Can I connect it directly to a battery?
No. Its output needs a suitable solar regulator or a compatible charger with integrated solar regulation before connection to the battery.
Can I still carry equipment on the roof-bar rails?
No additional load is allowed on those rails with this Altitude solar installation.
Is it a loose panel I put out at camp?
It is the fixed solar panel kit for the Altitude tent roof.
Will it produce 120W all day?
120W is the panel rating. Actual output varies with sunlight, shading, temperature and the charging system.
