A recovery winch you will be glad you brought
When a muddy climb or a soft patch stops your 4x4, a properly equipped winch gives you a controlled way to recover it. The Bushranger REVO MKII RWM120W combines a 12,000 lb first-layer line pull with 25 m of wire rope and a 5 m wired remote, so you can manage the recovery from a suitable position.
SKU: XERWRWM120W
Power and control when progress stops
The 4.6 kW motor works through a 171:1 gearbox, combining two planetary stages with two spur stages. An Albright DC88P contactor handles switching, while the gearbox-mounted proportional friction brake holds the load. Keeping the brake in the gearbox also keeps its heat away from the rope drum.
Straightforward controls and a practical wire-rope setup
A 90-degree clutch handle lets you select free spool without lifting the handle, making it easier to reach in a tight mounting space. The wired remote keeps control simple and dependable. The steel rope works with a stainless steel roller fairlead, with correct handling and regular inspection forming part of looking after the system.
Built for wet and dirty trips
The motor and gearbox are IP68 rated, and the black powder-coated finish sits over electrophoretic pretreatment. Those details help the winch cope with off-road exposure. After a wet or muddy trip, clean and inspect the winch, rope and connections so it is ready for the next recovery.
Fit it properly and know how to use it
Use a rated winch mount with enough space for the winch, fairlead and controls, and a suitable 12 V battery and wiring. The winch measures 600 x 194 x 185 mm without the control box on top and has a 254 x 114.3 mm mounting pattern. Its 46.7 kg fitted weight needs to be included when choosing front suspension and vehicle loading. Recovery training, rated connection points and a rope damper help you make good use of the equipment.

Frequently asked questions
What does the 12,000 lb rating mean?
It is the maximum line-pull rating on the first rope layer around the drum. Available pull reduces as more layers build up. Vehicle weight, slope, mud suction and the recovery arrangement all affect the load; choose and use the winch as part of a properly rated recovery system.
Is this the steel rope version?
Yes. RWM120W is the wire-rope version with 25 m of steel rope and a roller fairlead. Wear suitable gloves when handling it and inspect for broken strands, corrosion and damage before use.
Can I fit it behind my existing bumper?
That depends on the bumper and mounting plate. Check the winch dimensions, bolt pattern, fairlead position and clearance for controls and wiring. A plate rated for the winch and vehicle is essential.
How much rope must stay on the drum?
Keep at least five wraps of steel rope on the drum, as required by the operating instructions. The rope attachment itself is not designed to hold the recovery load.
Can I use it continuously?
No. It is designed for intermittent vehicle recovery. Allow cooling breaks according to the manual and stop if it cannot pull the load normally. It is not a lifting hoist.
What maintenance does it need?
Clean and inspect it after use, check the rope and electrical connections, and rewind the rope neatly under controlled tension. Keep the isolation switch off and disconnect the remote when the winch is not in use.
