A recovery is easier to prepare for when the strap, shackles and gloves are already packed together. The ARB Weekender Kit brings those essentials into one bag, making it a useful starting point for a correctly equipped recovery vehicle.

The kit includes an 8000kg minimum-breaking-strength snatch strap, two 4.75t Type S galvanised bow shackles and cowhide gloves. The bag keeps them together so you can inspect and pack the equipment before the trip.
The strap uses a different rating basis from the shackles: 8000kg is the strap minimum breaking strength, while 4.75t is the shackle working load limit. Use suitable rated recovery points, follow the equipment instructions and keep people clear of the recovery. A tow ball is never a snatch-recovery point.
A recovery damper, appropriate recovery points and any other required equipment need to be selected for the actual vehicle and recovery. If a different strap strength is required, see the ARB snatch strap options rather than choosing this kit solely because it is a convenient bundle.

It is the strap minimum breaking strength. Choose it for the vehicle and expected recovery load according to the strap instructions.
It is a useful core kit. Add suitable recovery points, a damper and any other equipment required for the vehicle and recovery method.
Inspect the strap, shackles and gloves before each trip. Clean and dry them after use, and replace damaged equipment before the next recovery.
