A substantial replacement for your Ram's worn ball joints
Your Ram does a lot through its front axle, from carrying the engine to steering a loaded truck. When the ball joints need replacing, Apex KIT111 gives you forged steel housings, induction-treated chromoly studs and greaseable bearings in one four-piece kit. It covers the front uppers and lowers on 2014-2026 Ram 2500 and 3500 4WD models.
SKU: KIT111
Different bearings for the upper and lower joints
The two BJ130 upper joints use a dual-carbon bearing design and a plunger-style stud that permits vertical movement while controlling lateral movement. The two BJ150 lowers use acetal bearings around polished studs. Acetal is a low-friction material with dimensional stability through changes in temperature and exposure to water or oil, useful qualities for a hard-working front axle.
Smooth uppers and knurled lowers
This kit supplies smooth, un-knurled BJ130 upper housings and knurled BJ150 lower housings. The upper selection suits bores that still provide the correct press fit. Have previously replaced or worn mounting bores inspected before installation, so the new joints are properly supported; knurling cannot repair a damaged bore.
Easy access for routine greasing
The lower joints have angled grease-fitting housings for easier servicing. CR rubber boots help protect the joints. Grease grooves distribute lubricant around the studs, and the included grease fittings let you maintain the joints through normal servicing. The E-coat finish protects the exposed housings.
Fitting and alignment
We recommend professional fitting, inspection of the joint mounting bores and a wheel alignment afterwards. Include the grease fittings and rubber boots in your regular front-end checks, particularly after muddy or wet use. The joints arrive pre-greased; add grease as required without overfilling the boots.
Replacing worn steering links at the same time?
Our KIT385-STL ProLock steel steering kit covers the 2014-2026 Ram 2500/3500 4WD tie rod and drag link. That steering kit excludes Prospector conversions and the Rough Country dual stabiliser; other dual-stabiliser brackets may need modification. It is an option if those links also need attention.
Pre-greased and greaseable; zerk fittings included

Frequently asked questions
What is in KIT111?
Four front ball joints: two BJ130 uppers with smooth housings and two BJ150 knurled lowers, with grease fittings and mounting hardware.
Do all four joints use the same bearing?
No. The BJ130 uppers use dual-carbon bearings; the BJ150 lowers use acetal bearings.
Are the upper joints knurled?
No. This is the smooth-upper selection. The lower joints are knurled.
Will it fit an older 2003-2013 Ram?
KIT111 is the 2014-2026 Ram 2500/3500 4WD application. Earlier trucks use a different kit.
Does it need servicing?
Yes. The joints are greaseable. Inspect the boots and grease fittings during regular servicing, and avoid overfilling the boots.
Can ball joints cure death wobble?
Replacing worn ball joints addresses play at those joints. Have the full front end inspected if the truck has wobble; tyres, track bar, steering links and other parts can contribute too.
