Replace your Ram's worn ball joints with a heavier-duty set
If your Ram's ball joints are due, KIT101 lets you replace the full front upper and lower set with forged housings, chromoly studs and serviceable bearings. You get two smooth-housing BJ130 uppers and two knurled BJ131 lowers. It fits 2003-2013 Ram 2500/3500 4WD and the specific 2006-2008 Ram 1500 4WD 8-lug application.
SKU: KIT101
Upper and lower joints built for their jobs
The upper joints use dual-carbon bearings and smooth, un-knurled housings. The lower joints use acetal bearings around polished studs inside knurled housings. Acetal provides a low-friction bearing surface with good dimensional stability around water, oil and temperature changes. Both positions use hot-forged SAE 4140 chromoly studs with induction heat treatment and CNC-machined SAE 1045 forged steel housings.
A kit you can maintain
The lower joints use side-angle housings with extended grease fittings, giving you easier access when it is time to service them. Grease grooves distribute lubricant around the studs, while CR rubber internal-seal boots help keep road dirt out. E-coated housings, rolled and stepped threads, and Grade 8 / class 10.9 hardware complete the kit.
Check the housing fit before pressing them in
This is the smooth-upper, knurled-lower selection. The upper joints need mounting bores with the correct press fit, particularly if the old joints have already been replaced. Have the bores inspected so a worn or damaged mounting point is dealt with properly, rather than relying on the replacement housing to make up for it.
The right Ram application
The 1500 fitment is specifically 2006-2008 4WD with 8-lug hubs. The 2500 and 3500 applications are 2003-2013 4WD. Matching those details matters because the later Ram ball joint kits use different lower joints.
Fitting and ownership
We recommend professional fitting, inspection of the joint mounting bores and a wheel alignment afterwards. Include the grease fittings and rubber boots in your regular front-end checks, particularly after muddy or wet use. The joints arrive pre-greased; add grease as required without overfilling the boots.
Pre-greased and greaseable; zerk fittings included

Frequently asked questions
Will it fit every Ram 1500 from 2006-2008?
No. The listed Ram 1500 application is specifically 4WD with 8-lug hubs.
Does it include all four front joints?
Yes. Two BJ130 uppers and two BJ131 lowers are supplied.
Are both upper and lower housings knurled?
No. The uppers are smooth / un-knurled and the lowers are knurled.
What bearings are used?
The BJ130 uppers use dual-carbon bearings. The BJ131 lowers use acetal bearings around polished studs.
Is this a one-time cure for steering wobble?
It is a serviceable replacement for worn ball joints. If the truck has wobble, the whole front end still needs inspecting so other causes are addressed.
What work should follow installation?
We recommend professional installation, a mounting-bore inspection and wheel alignment, followed by normal boot and lubrication checks.
