A heavy knock to the fuel tank can bring a good trip to an abrupt end. PDWTD6 puts a 6 mm duralumin guard beneath the original tank on the listed Touareg and Cayenne applications, giving you more peace of mind when the track gets rocky or deeply rutted. It is made for the original fuel tank and chassis.

The guard is made from certified AW5083 H111 duralumin, a high-strength aluminium alloy. It puts a substantial barrier beneath your fuel tank with less weight than a steel plate of the same size and thickness. You can add protection for a component you really don't want to damage while keeping the weight of the guard down.
The duralumin plate won't rust, even where contact with the ground marks its surface. Its natural oxide layer helps resist corrosion too. That gives you long-term value from a guard fitted beneath the tank, through wet road miles and muddy tracks alike.
The 6 mm SportDuty plate suits recreational off-roading and overlanding where you want protection while keeping added weight down. It's the lighter of Almont's 6 mm and 8 mm protection ranges.

This guard is specified for the original chassis and original fuel tank. Those details matter as much as the model generation: a replacement tank with greater capacity has a different shape and is outside this guard's application.
The plate bolts into your vehicle's original holes and threads using the supplied steel supports and fixings, with no need to drill new mounting holes. The certificate/instruction manual is included to guide the installation. Raised suspension is compatible when the original mounting points remain in place.
The plate needs the original chassis, frame, axle and suspension-stay anchors, transmission mounts and stabiliser-bar supports. Body lifts and diff-drop kits change that relationship and are incompatible.

No. It fits the original fuel tank and chassis. A larger replacement tank needs protection made for its different shape.
Your skid plate comes with matching steel mounting supports, pre-installed fixings, a certificate and instruction manual, and an Almont sticker.
Give the plate a pressure wash once a year, or two or three times a year if you use it in muddy or salty conditions. Check the fixings for tightness annually as well. Follow the supplied instructions when refitting it after maintenance.
Almont's three-year warranty covers cracking of the protection itself. Dents, deformation and damage to the vehicle are excluded.
