An R51 Pathfinder makes a brilliant cheap overlander right up until a rock ledge meets its fuel tank. This Almont fuel tank skid plate closes that gap with 12 kg of certified EN AW-5083 H111 duralumin in 6mm SportDuty cut, shaped to the R51M's tank so drag-overs, stone strikes and towing-yard kerbs land on hard alloy rather than the tank skin. Cut in Spain by Almont4WD, it bolts to the original chassis holes with steel brackets and pre-installed bolts and carries a 3-year warranty against cracking of the plate.
