The D40 Navara made its name towing and hauling, and both jobs press a low-hung fuel tank closer to the ground just as the going turns rough. This Almont fuel tank skid plate for the Nissan Navara D40, the 2005-2016 generation, is 12 kg of certified EN AW-5083 H111 duralumin in 6 mm SportDuty grade, cut to the floorpan and bolted to the original chassis holes so stones and dragged crests scar plate rather than splitting the tank.
Mid-corner ruts, buried stone and steep crests all reach for the lowest soft component, and on a D40 that is the tank. Almont's answer is simple: sacrificial duralumin, steel mounting brackets, pre-installed bolts and mounts designed to absorb impacts and vibration.
