Once the front of your Discovery is protected, extend that peace of mind beneath the gearbox, transfer case and exhaust line. PDLR43B8 adds an 8 mm HeavyDuty duralumin guard on manual or automatic Discovery 3 and 4 applications. The matching front plate must already be installed as part of the mounting arrangement; it is a separate purchase.

Certified AW5083 H111 duralumin puts a strong guard beneath the transmission with less weight than steel of the same size and thickness. These are expensive components to leave exposed to contact from below. It's a worthwhile way to protect them while keeping the extra weight under your vehicle down.
The duralumin plate won't rust where its surface gets scratched. Its natural oxide layer helps resist corrosion, giving you a durable guard for equipment you rely on every time you drive. It's reassurance that lasts beyond the first muddy weekend.
At 8 mm thick, this HeavyDuty plate is our choice for heavier vehicles and demanding long-distance trips over rough ground. It puts a substantial barrier beneath the components listed below.

PDLR43B8 adds protection beneath the gearbox, transfer case and exhaust line on Discovery 3 2005-2009 and Discovery 4 2010-2016, with either manual or automatic transmission. Fit our PDLR43A8 or PDLR43AR8 front plate first, as it forms part of the mounting arrangement. If you haven't already fitted one, add the front plate to your order too; it's sold separately.
The plate bolts into your vehicle's original holes and threads using the supplied steel supports and fixings, with no need to drill new mounting holes. The certificate/instruction manual is included to guide the installation. Raised suspension is compatible when the original mounting points remain in place.
The plate needs the original chassis, frame, axle and suspension-stay anchors, transmission mounts and stabiliser-bar supports. Body lifts and diff-drop kits change that relationship and are incompatible.

No. PDLR43A8 or PDLR43AR8 must already be installed. The front plate is part of the mounting arrangement and is purchased separately.
Your skid plate comes with matching steel mounting supports, pre-installed fixings, a certificate and instruction manual, and an Almont sticker.
Give the plate a pressure wash once a year, or two or three times a year if you use it in muddy or salty conditions. Check the fixings for tightness annually as well. Follow the supplied instructions when refitting it after maintenance.
Almont's three-year warranty covers cracking of the protection itself. Dents, deformation and damage to the vehicle are excluded.
