Break over a crest in a loaded D-Max and the middle of the truck is what touches down, right where the gearbox and transfer case live. This Almont gearbox and transfer skid plate for the Isuzu D-Max RG01 4x4, 1.9, 2.5 and 3.0 from 2021, is 10.2 kg of certified EN AW-5083 H111 duralumin in 6 mm SportDuty grade, bolted to the original chassis holes so ground contact wears sacrificial plate instead of alloy casings.
The casings under the cab do not bend and recover; they crack, and the truck stops there. Almont's plate arrives with steel mounting brackets and pre-installed bolts, mounts designed to absorb impacts and vibration, and everyday fitting tools cover the job: 17 mm and 13 mm spanners or sockets plus 5 mm and 6 mm Allen keys. Most RG01 builds start with the front skid plate and finish with the fuel tank plate.

Almont marks the plates that must go on with another part, and there is no such note on this one. Plenty of owners still fit front and gearbox cover together, and it is cheaper on labour to do so.
