The B58 in the G30 540i is a genuinely great straight six wrapped in total silence. This MST Performance cold air intake system gives it a voice: precision-engineered aluminium pipework replaces the restrictive standard air box, designed to move air faster into the turbo with less turbulence and restriction. Under load the six finally sounds like a six; the rest of the time the car stays as refined as BMW intended. Supplied with all fittings for a direct OEM-replacement install on 2016-on cars.
MST design their intakes to increase air speed while minimising turbulence and flow restriction, using top-quality components across the kit. On the B58 that translates into a cleaner path feeding the turbo and a hardened induction note when you open the throttle. Because the kit suits standard and already-tuned vehicles, it works equally well as a first modification or the finishing touch on a remapped car.
For the 3.0T B58 petrol six in G30-generation 5 Series cars from 2016 on. Diesel models are not covered, and the 2.0T B48 uses the MST B48 version of this kit instead. Check the engine code and confirm the part number matches your exact car before ordering.
