The 2.0 TDCi is the Ranger most people actually run, and its gearbox and transfer case hang exactly where a loaded truck touches down on crests and ruts. This Almont gearbox and transfer skid plate for the Ford Ranger PX4 T8 2.0 TDCi from 2023, Almont's four-cylinder diesel spec, is 12 kg of certified EN AW-5083 H111 duralumin in 8 mm HeavyDuty grade. Strikes that would crack a casing and end the day leave nothing worse than marks on the plate.
A gearbox repair is a four-figure interruption; a scarred plate is proof the system worked. Almont bolts this plate to Ford's original chassis holes with steel mounting brackets and pre-installed bolts, mounts designed to absorb impacts and vibration, and ordinary hand tools do the job. Ahead of it the PX4 front skid plate takes the first strike, and behind it the rear differential plate guards the axle.
