The Apex Chassis Super HD Ball Joint Kit rebuilds the front end of a hard-worked Ram with joints made for the abuse. On a 2003-2013 Ram 2500 or 3500 4WD - or a 2006-2008 Ram 1500 8-lug - a heavy diesel front axle, big tyres and years of towing wear the factory ball joints loose, and the result is wander, clunks and vague steering. This kit replaces all four joints with CNC-machined SAE 1045 forged steel housings and SAE 4140 hot-forged chromoly ball studs, so the truck steers tight again and stays that way. It is a genuine Apex Chassis part, imported to the UK.
Factory-style replacement joints wear out for the same reason the originals did. This kit's approach is different: forged one-piece housings, induction heat-treated and polished chromoly studs, a carbon bearing design in the uppers and military-grade acetal bearings in the lowers for wear resistance and dimensional stability. The lower joints use knurled housings - the preferred design for aftermarket installs because they bite into a knuckle that has already had joints pressed in and out.
Confirm your truck's year, model and drivetrain against the application list before ordering - the 1500 fitment is the 2006-2008 8-lug truck only. Fitment shown is manufacturer reference, so check it against your vehicle. Ball joint replacement is a press-in job on this axle: plan proper tooling or a workshop install, and book a wheel alignment afterwards. If the knuckles are worn from previous joint changes, the knurled lowers are designed to hold in that situation.
